A Gun Can Save Your LIfe

Ok, first of all… WHO WON THE MUG???  First let me say I really enjoyed the comments from my fellow coffee lovers and blog readers out there!  Your comments were well received.

Congratulations to Mommy in TX!  Shoot me an email at jarheadsurvivor@gmail.com and I’ll get the mug to you.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Now on to the post!

—————————–

Here’s a story about an older gentleman who happened to have the means to protect himself and did so.  It seems like every time there’s a shooting where an innocent life is taken the media splashes it all over the front page.  I thought I’d do the opposite and post something about a time when a gun (or guns) actually save lives.

What do you think?

Questions?  Comments?

Great video. Here in CT I would have been arrested for what he did.

Yep, absolutely! Thank GOD for the second amendment! In the home, there are at least one weapon within a couple of seconds from where ever I am. Here in Texas, we also have a “Castle Law” that keeps us from being sued by the perp’s relatives.

Does that extend to a persons vehicle in Texas if somebody is trying to force their way in ? It does in AZ , and we seem to have similar laws with TX.

Once in US history an episode of Islamic terrorism was very quickly stopped. It happened in the Philippines about 1911, when Gen. John J. Pershing was in command of the garrison. There had been numerous Islamic terrorist attacks, so “Black Jack” told his boys to catch the perps and teach them a lesson.

Forced to dig their own graves, the terrorists were all tied to posts, execution style. The US soldiers then brought in pigs and slaughtered them, rubbing their bullets in the blood and fat. Thus, the terrorists were terrorized; they saw that they would be contaminated with hogs’ blood. This would mean that they could not enter Heaven, even if they died as terrorist martyrs.

All but one was shot, their bodies dumped into the grave, and the hog guts dumped atop the bodies. The lone survivor was allowed to escape back to the terrorist camp and tell his brethren what happened to the others. This brought a stop to terrorism in the Philippines for the next 50 years.

Pointing a gun into the face of Islamic terrorists won’t make them flinch. They welcome the chance to die for Allah. Like Gen. Pershing, we must show them that they won’t get to Muslim heaven (which they believe has an endless supply of virgins) but instead will die with the hated pigs of the devil. This should be tweeted

I’m glad he was armed because he and his wife might not be here today if he wasn’t….BUT..did anyone else notice that he said he was first carrying a Walther PPK but then he said Glock when referring to the car incident?

Either way people need to realize that they must respect other people’s property and persons. This is America and its much easier to make a decent living compared to many countries in the world. Much better to earn a paycheck than a mouthful of 00 Buck from breaking down my door.

He then told how he retreved the glock from the closet after the ppk ran out of ammo.

Good deal. I wouldn’t opened the door and definitely wouldn’t have went outside after i sent some lead love packages. I would’ve stayed in the house and waited on the lawmen while keeping an eye on the situation. I’d hate to have to replace my door but here in Colorado we have to wait until they breach the house and show intent to do harm….Break Door–>12 Gauge Blast.

Guns save way more lives than the media will let people know about, because it doesn’t fit their agenda.

Amen to all of the above. Although I live out in the boonies, you just never know. Anyone under the influence of that drug becomes a very strong raving lunatic.

I’m surprised this guy isn’t in jail. He opened the door and shot the guy. Then fired on the vehicle in the street. Personally I don’t see an issue with his actions. LEO here would likely disagree.

Friends ask me how I can have a gun in the house with kids. I ask them how could they not?

Exactly! Back when I was in college some guys kicked in our door at 3am and my brother and I had to defend ourselves with a bat and kitchen knives. My dad got me a shotgun that next week and I’ve been buying firearms since. People swear they don’t need guns until that 3am boom comes then they realize their entire family is about to die or be seriously hurt in the next few minutes…..and the police can’t get there in time.

Luckily for my brother and I we knew our house better than they did and had enough sense to stay put and lay in wait instead of hunting them. 1st guy got a cracked skull and 2nd guy ran.

Now 15 years later I’m married with 1.5 children(wife is pregnant) and have a nice arsenal to defend my family with against crooks, looters, zombies, killer squirrels, whatever may come. My son is 6 and has a clear understanding of firearms and I make him practice the 4 laws of safety even with his toy guns. He watches me clean mine and we use those times to talk about why we have them and when we’re supposed to use them.
Its a shame that some people really don’t truly take care of themselves. The system was not built to help you it was built for you to use as you learn to help yourself.

IMO, the only way deal with a person with criminal intent, and one who is willing to do physical harm to someone while in the act of the crime, is to STB.

… and that’s why “they” don’t want us to have guns.

Maybe the homeowner is CYA but, according to the video, the perp on the left stepped into the house. A definite no, no. And, according
to the video the perp on the right ( a woman ) raised a baseball bat which the homeowner was correct in defending himself. Also, on the video, in the yard the car cranked up and moved towards him. That also gave him justification for shooting at the car. He was, after all, a 42 year veteran of police work. He would know how to structure his defense so that he is not going to be arrested.

Good for him! Obviously he prepared his home to defend it, having two weapons within reach. It was smart thinking to come to the door armed, I wonder how many times he did that only to find the paper boy at the door…. (or a neighbor). Good example of not becoming complacent in your home turf. Great job.

He did the wrong thing. Straight up, flat out, wrong and is lucky to be alive.

Call the police first. Never open the door. Never go outside. Stay inside. Turn on house lights, hopefully this alone will scare them off (it’s worked for me twice!). Stay out of view. If they come into your house then shoot from cover.

Had there been a 3rd person that that man didn’t see he would be dead. Had the man with the baseball bat acted quicker he could have hit the homeowner before the homeowner had a chance to shoot.

And for the love of dog, get rid of that big glass front door.

I have been told this also , Call cops , wait for them to enter instead of walking around outside . Had this happen to a guy I knew , He woke up from a noise inside the house , they dont have kids , so he locked the bedroom door , sent his wife into the bathroom attached to the master bedroom , had her lock herself in there while she called the cops …………he had an AK ready and aimed for anything that tried to come through the bedroom door was gunna get killed . Cops arrested two kids leaving the house .

He did it right as far as the outcome, he and his wife are alive and the bad people are dead and in jail (not in jail long enough in my opinion.) And he did not end up in jail himself. But if could have gone the other way as far as him going to jail. With out-of touch prosecutors and judges that have political aspirations and political agendas it’s easy to see the home owner ending up in jail. They could easily have said the bad people did not come into his home and he then went to the bedroom to get a new gun to go hunt the bad people down.
Ideally he should have shot the bad people and then retreated to the bedroom to wait for the police.
I’m glad it came out OK for him, but don’t expect this to be the norm…
