Tonight, or this morning, or afternoon, or whenever you’re reading this (I’m posting at 9:39PM East Coast Time on January 3, 2008) we have a few things to discuss. First off - the race for the White House!

Huckabeen and Obama in Iowa - ka chow! All eyes are on New Hampshire now, where it could be anyone’s best guess. McCain has a chance, Obama’s coming off a win, Hillary is in da house, and Romney is from a neighboring state.

Huckabee, if he’s smart, will now directly focus on South Carolina. This is really the only choice. Edwards? Count him out. Ron Paul, leading the SHTFblog poll, he never had a real chance anyway. Speaking of . . .

Dr. No
Ron Paul has been ousted from the ABC and Fox News debates to be held this weekend. They’re “narrowing the field” of candidates invited to participate. They’re claiming limited space in the studio and that they invited candidates who had double-digit support in recent polls. Unfortunately, whether Paul has a chance or not, his exclusion will only mean a less broad spectrum of ideas to be heard. Some Paul supporters are e-mailing people in hopes of forming a boycott of Fox advertisers. Read the full story here.

I’d like to see Ron Paul launch and Independent campaign. I may not agree with him on everything, but his views should get air time during the campaign; similar line of thinking with Ralph Nader campaigns. The two-party system doesn’t represent everyone.

Oil Watch
Anybody that pays attention knows that a barrel of oil has now touched the $100 mark, albeit not settled there. As of the writing of this post, oil closed at $99.18 a barrel. Sweet, huh?
