With George W Bush’s Presidency, many of his detractors were irritated from day 1 - the Supreme Court decision and lack of popular vote gave liberals what many of them felt was the right to be generally anti-Bush… Then, after September 11th we saw the brief light of bipartisan feeling shine through the clouds - until 43 decided to strike back at the terrorists by… invading Iraq? Yes, by invading a country with a dictator we trained and helped install that had little if absolutely nothing to do with the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.
Now, we’re left with two quasi-wars- television wars for most Americans, wars that require nothing from the general Citizen, wars that are only real to the people who are in them… Both Iraq and Afghanistan teeter on the brink of failed statehood, ready to fall under the influence of anti-Western leadership- all the while nursed by a defiant and treacherous Iran, which actively quests for the Bomb.
In the midst of all this, America has a new and somewhat untested President- one whose “ideals” seem to be splitting the nation as he attempts to solve many big problems all at once… On one side, the Liberal have-nots wish for better education, free healthcare, and more individual rights, while on the other side, the mad-as-hell Teapartiers want to hold their ground (and their guns) close, keep immigration down, and fight for their notion of fiscal responsibility.

Fanned by the likes of Glenn Beck and Joe Wilson, fueled by the ugly recessionary slump, and fostered by enemies on every doorstep there is a deep tide of unease in the American population.
What’s next? Is the United States set to tear itself apart?

we trained him, and helped install…
…then we encouraged some of his citizens to “rise-up!” we told them “we got your back”. the same thing “we” did to the hungarians and the czechs by the way. we owed those people their liberation regardless of 9/11.

My wife and I were on one of the five buses that went to DC from our (democrat controlled)town. The organizers could not find more buses to hire because of the overwhelming demand. There were a few kooks in the crowd, but the majority were solid middle class citizens. The liberals better fear the 2010 elections. People are fired up way beyond when Newt Gingrich led the takeover of Clinton’s congress.

“People are fired up way beyond when Newt Gingrich led the takeover of Clinton’s congress.”
And subsequently betrayed Conservative America with the Contract on America?

“On one side, the Liberal have-nots wish for better education, free healthcare, and more individual rights” …
the more laws are enacted, the less rights we have. I really hope you realize to have “better education and free healthcare” we must *lose* more rights - it cannot work the other way. The more we are taxed, the less rights we have to enjoy our personal liberty and pursue happiness … and forcing us to give up our pay to help the needy robs me of my right to choose between right (helping the poor) and wrong (being greedy and not caring). For all the arguments they make against “legislating morality”, it is shocking that they want to do just that … by robbing the “rich” to pay the “poor”.
i am glad the “tea partiers” exist - for all this alleged anger (i have yet to see them trespassing, burning trash cans, spray painting walls, smashing windows and using profanity around my kids - things I have almost ALWAYS seen at “peaceful rallies” the Liberals put on!) - they are doing a great job of expressing *our* concerns … and it is sick and disgusting to watch our public servants brush them off (”they ‘re just a bunch of angry rednecks”, “they don’t represent the majority”, “haven’t heard of them”) …
It is equally as distressing to watch a bunch of pot-smoking liberals attack Glenn Beck without having ever bothered to listen to his show. I think it’s great we have people like Beck to balance out the false news they’re getting from Comedy Central’s Daily Show, Saturday Night Live, South Park, Huffington Post, The Onion, and Move On. If you listened to each of these and then check the facts, Beck comes out waaaaaay ahead in the truth department.

Already people are wishing for the good old days of G.W.B. I did not think he was a better persedent than one we have now. We now have taxes with no benifit.

funny how when George Bush was president we were “losing the war” ,his evil cohort Dick Chaney was torturing prisoners in Guantanamo, the economy was bad, blah, blah ,blah.
yet all those things are still happening , but the liberal press won’t touch their appointed messiah.
let’s hope we can right this ship before the lefty loonies sink the country

Of course America is headed for a fall that started many decades ago. Nothing Obama has done in the last 9 months has accelerated this. As much as I hate Bush for being a moron and completely unqualified to run even a baseball team, I do think the TARP bailout that he and Paulson pushed through slowed the failure of the recent bank calamity. But this bank problem is only the tip of the melting iceberg and energy costs, water shortages, global warming, etc won’t be fixed by massive government spending.

I didn’t want to agree with this, but I have to agree with a lot of it. I think we are about to tear ourselves apart. In many ways, America has been it’s own worst enemy, but the perils of what our current government is perpetuating, will be very serious. Even Japan is going to eat us alive economically soon, if not already. Good post.

It does seem as though our country is so polarized that nothing short of a national catastrophe will unite us. The contrarian views of liberals and conservatives are just too far apart to be reconciled. Every president is quickly dubbed the worst idiot ever by the other side. Nothing good or constructive can come from this.

Obama has convinced me to never again vote republican, or democrat. Bush II+. I think the left wingnuts looking at the tea party as a republican group, are making the same mistaken assumptions the republicans are. My new motto, ‘No Reelection’.

I agree. The solution to many of the ills in our country is to impose term limits on all elected federal officials. One term is enough time living at taxpayer expense for anyone… Outlawing political parties might not hurt either.

I believe we are headed for a fall. We have quietly sit by and let our leaders chip away at our constitution until we are no more free than the people we fought to free during the World Wars. We turn our heads when things are wrong and we keep quiet when our representatives give themselves raises, send our boys to war or plan to sign treaties that give away our independence. We have to lose what we have to fight to get it back and stand on our own feet.

America is near the terminal phase of its end-game that more than 40 years in the making
1. Unsustainable deficit spending, which was kicked of in the 1960s under LBJs “Guns ‘n Butter” policy
2. Over population. There are simply too many people living in america to be sustainble. the US imports 75% of its oil from abroad, and we are rapidity consuming the oil the remains within US borders. The US is now the third most populous nation in the world, second to China and India.
3. Peak Oil and closing on peak Natural gas Production. The World gets about 40% of its oil from 10 large super giant fields that are nearly depleted. today all we find are small fields and most are in difficult areas to extract. All of the easy and cheap oil has already been found and much of it has been already produced
4. Out of control entitlements. The Federal gov’t has promised Americans entitlement that can never be delivered to the masses. There is over $52 Trillion in entitlement promises and it going up by the minute. Even today, Washington is working to increase entitlements so they can all get another term in office.
Here’s how I think it will go down:
1. The Federal gov’t and the Fed continue to print large sums of money to fund the gov’t, buy up toxic loans.
2. The Social Security Surplus is gone, that partly why the Federal Budget Deficit has soared to $1.7 trillion this year (It is not 1.4 trillion as reported see http://www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/NPGateway Sept 30,2008 to Sept 30,2009) the outlays for SS are about to soar as more and more workers at 62 retire unexpectedly because of the economic soft-depression)
3. foriegners are distancing themselves from the dollar. China, and most of Asia are looking for exits from their US dollar reserves. Some are coverting dollars into other currencies, others like china are buying commodities and assets (ie over-seas oil fields).
At some point the dollar will really start to tank leading to an hyper-inflationary spirl. US States will be forced to print their own currencies as no businesses would be willing to accept dollars for payment. When the Dollar ceases to retain value the Federal gov’t is over. It can’t pay for goods and services and therefore has no power. Perhaps the Federal gov’t will linger as a zombie gov’t, but it won’t have any real power or authority.
If I am proven to be correct, ideally you want to be living in state that is high in natural resources, solid agraculture and low in population. I suspect that regional states will form a gov’t and share a currency. for Example New England is probably likely to form as a new country.

You lose credibility when you make things up. We did not “train” him. And although we were on the same side in the original coup, he was a minor player and that coup failed so we did not install him either. That being said, as there is only a difference in the speed at which the Republicans and Democrats are heading for national destruction, I have to agree with your conclusion.

Shouldest thou wonder wherefore is Rangerman after he made that post. They came for him. Yes. They.
I, Luther, have beheld the white trucks with the chimneys driving the hills of Maine. They pull up at night and toss you in and hit the incinerate button. You go up in a quick puff of greasy black smoke.
Harken to my words. The time is nigh! Luther commands you to follow him and take action.
Who is doing this? The Sodomites! Those who commit the unspeakable sin of the Greeks. We have but two choices.
1. become sodomites and be spared.
2. Run. There are too many for us to fight.
Lo, it is a fact that 78% of the population is of this wicked orientation. This is up from 2 percent in the late 1960’s. But we have all been given subliminal messages during Sesame Street that leads to same-sex urges. Only a few of us can resist.
We must go someplace where this abomination does not exist. Sweden.
Lo, my people, harken to Luther. I, Luther, have see the future and it is buggery. Stay here and you will perish. Or you will succumb to the lusty advances of the buggerers.
Who will join Luther in his quest for a manly and heterosexual exodus? Post a reply here and we will work out the details.
I do hope ranger was incinerated, and not corn-holed.

as far as death camps thats a lil far fetched, but if something like that were to be done ur right our military or police wouldnt do it….but the UN or other militarys might. there is constant talk of joining economies or looking to the rest of the word for answers. i hear a treaty is to be signed soon to make word govt happen….just ship in chinese soldiers.
as far as global warming, the world goes in cycles weather wise. remember in school when they talked about multiple ice ages. well it had to warm up to. al gore is set to be a billionare off his bs, and for the rest when a good solution is brought to the table they turn it down…ie wind farms off maine, or solar farms in the middle of the desert in cali. it was the tree hugers who bitched.
