by Ranger Man on July 19, 2010

Journalists seem to have a hard time accurately describing and defining specific firearms. I’ve found their source of information.

Tell me about it. Even here in the woods, the TV people make mistakes. One time they described the weapon that a crazy person had as a “rifle”. It was a 12 gauge…..BTW welcome back Ranger Man. We did miss you a bit, was getting tired of discussing climate change…lol

Ahhhh yes the politically correct shit bags (most of them) we have for journalists in this country. The “assault rifle” as it was described was a lever action rifle. The police officer “pulled his service revolver, a 40 caliber semi automatic Glock handgun and shot the suspect.” All of this was said with a high pitched party voice and served with a smile. Did the guy just win the lottery or did he shoot at the cops??? WTF? I think they should have a firearms guru working for the news stations so we can at least find out what people are shooting each other with accuratly….keeps your friends close and your enemies closer.

I recently read a local newspaper article describing a crime in which a “machine gun like firearm was used”, you can assume the weapon was semi auto considering full auto firearms are very difficult to acquire. According to the media if a gun looks like a machine gun it must be.
