Something new here at SHTFblog!
That’s right, your favorite SHTF blogger is going to challenge YOU. I’m going to challenge you to do better, do more and be more prepared than you ever thought possible.
We’re going to start with the basics for this first one. It’s simple really, store more water.
What does that mean Calamity? How can I win? I know that’s what you’re yelling at your computer. Here’s the details.
Any water counts. Rain water, tap water, desalinated ocean water, bottled water, even grey water if you can prove to me that you are re-using it. Store that water. In bottles, in rain barrels, whatever. Mark it with the date, so you don’t forget. Then tell us about it! You can comment here on this post, I’ll link back to again halfway through so you don’t lose track of where this one is. Links to a blog post would be great, pictures will help make your case, you can email those to me Use the subject line of “Calamity’s Challenge.” No, this is not a random number drawing, this is a meritocracy. Creativity and resourcefulness will get you closer to that prize than money will.
The goal here is to have our readers better off at the end of the challenge, and nothing will help more in an SHTF emergency than potable water.
I’ll pick the winner two weeks from today. May 13th, you have until I go to bed the night before to comment here and tell me all about how much water you got stored in 2 weeks. (And don’t procrastinate, I go to bed at Iowa working-woman time. )
What is the glorious prize? A handmade paracord bracelet will be yours for the picking. I have a selection of colors available in common wrist sizes. We’ll find one to your liking and I’ll send it your way. It’s that simple!
So get to it! Store some water! Claim your prize as the ultimate water storer. Solidify your preps and Sound off in the comments!
