Well, I had every intention of writing a detailed post on . . . something tonight, but I didn’t quite get there. As I’ve said in the past I’m on a small, social “investment club” that amounts to contributing 50 bucks a month to our “fund” and voting on what stocks to buy. Needless to say, it was a long discussion tonight. Personally, I was in favor of cashing out before it gets worse. I’d prefer to take the cash and dump it into food storage equipment, but alas – I was in the minority.
Now the presidential debate is airing in the background, and I’m dead tired.
Ugh.
Like the Obama/Biden ticket or not, I feel those two do a much better job at actually answering questions – whether you like their answers or not. The other thing I get a little annoyed at is McCain’s use of “my friends” – note to McCain – I’m not your friend. I don’t even know you, man.
Ugh. Where will the future take us?
Yeah, check back tomorrow night for a post. My day is just too busy. All of you supporters and readers are on my mind each day, though. I try to post often for this reason, but the reality is I’m middle-class working a full-time job with a wife that works a full-time job on a different schedule so we don’t have to use/pay for day care. It’s the whole raise your own kids and try to save money at the same time thing.
I try to balance the daily demands of life with my desire to post daily. Meanwhile bloggers like Dooce somehow manage to blog a few times a week and support the entire family on blog revenue.
It’s tough times. Meanwhile the world is going to Hell.
lol
Ugh.

Hey Angry Mike check this site out. Same guy who published American Survival Guide magazine. He now publishes it online.

Sad it is that one of these two men, Obama or McCain, will soon take the job of POTUS.
Neither one — nor the moderator — could seize the moment with a breakthrough, like “Healthcare, Iraq, etc. are very important — but I want to talk about the fact that we are in a global financial MELTDOWN; here is what I would do today to fix it, if I were in the White House.”
Neither of these men truly inspire confidence — neither are up to the task.
You could see it on the crowd’s faces. You read it here and all over the Internet. You will see it today and tomorrow in the markets.
bottom-line, it doesnt’ make a difference…there were other things going on during the depression years that intensified the suffering of the lower and middle class such as the dust bowl and world war. no matter what the polititians do, we all still put our pants on one leg at a time…and we are all charged with personal responsibility for where we are at and where we are going in all walks of life. i am not rich nor am i middleclass anylonger…no matter what is said i send a check to irs everyyear and i when they tell you that anyone under $40 grand doesnt’ pay taxes they are full of crap…everyone is taxed if they have a job and all those nickels add up my friend! political meltdowns and financial meltdowns should not make us forget our responsibilites…we should quit blamingand use plain old common sense to survive life…stock your pantry, grow a garden, make sure you have some sort of water storage system, don’t spend your money on things not needed (use it up and wear it out-then recycle it). it is my personal belief that we should not have bailed out anyone…especially to loosen up credit- credit does nothing but dig holes…big deep holes
I know this is off topic, but if you want to see the law enforcement Bug out Bag click below.

life’s kicking everybody in the balls and we’re talking bugout bags 🙂
thanks for the link.
have been carrying a small gym bag for years now. it get s a change over with the seasons .
summer – sun block, bonnie , rain jacket , etc
winter. warm hat,gloves,etc
year round , 2 bottles water, cliff bars ,multi-tool , flash lights ,etc
last winter there was a heavy snow storm right at evening rush hour. the shuttle bus to the employee parking lot was MIA , so it was a 1 mile hike in the heavy snow to my truck. this is where a dry change of clothes would have helped.
vehicle did have a full tank which is not usual for me, but for some reason i heeded the weatherman’s advise and filled up the night before. the water and energy bars made the 4 hour trip home bearable.
had thoughts about going down a couple of one way streets and driving over a medium strip to access another road home , but found that blocked as well after deciding against it and seeing the chaos there 2 hours later. ( not to mention the possible traffic citation for puling such a stunt. ( why people were driving into the city is beyond me )
a simple snow storm stopped Boston in it’s tracks. my guess in a real emergency we’ll all be hoofing it. a means to protect oneself should you find your way home transverses through a bad neighborhood would be helpful and of course a full scale disaster will bring out the worst in people. that was fairly evident during the storm.
