    Hi Road Warrior,

I live to be able to do what you did! Whenever I get a chance to hike out into the woods up here in Ontario (Wow! What a winter we’ve had – Extreme cold and lots of snow) I grab my go-bag, snowshoes and AR-7 (it hides nicely in my pack and doesn’t set off any alarm bells among hoplophobic Canadians) and set off for a short adventure. It sure does wonderful things for a tired soul. Lol.
Loved those pixs. Looks much like it is up here in the Great White North. God, you gotta love it.
Just one small word of caution. I noticed that you were cooking your breakfast in an aluminum fry pan. Not good. We were told not to use our army issued aluminum food containers for health reasons. That metal is toxic and may lead to neurological disorders later in life. I use stainless steel instead. Stay healthy, safe and enjoy the great outdoors.

It IS pretty great, isn’t it’ I can imagine Ontario must be pretty rugged this time of year…and I thought WE were having a cold winter! Thanks for the perspective.

And thank you for the tip on aluminum! It’s funny….this crappy mess kit (first time I’d used it….test your gear before you need it, right?) warped and contorted badly with the heat. I know have a swanky old military stainless mess kit in the BOB.
